BEC Welcomes Milligan University Head Coach, Skyler Barnett

CAMBRIDGE—The Ontario Baseball Association is excited to announce Skyler Barnett, the head coach of Milligan University baseball, as the next speaker for the 2025 Best Ever Coaches Clinic.

Skyler Barnett has been coaching at the collegiate level for thirteen years and has been the Head Baseball Coach of Milligan University for six years.

Milligan University is an NAIA school in the Appalachian Athletic Conference in Northeast Tennessee. As head coach, Barnett has achieved six winning seasons and reached 100 wins faster than any other coach in the school's history. He also led Milligan University to the National NAIA tournament, a first for the school.

Before coaching at Milligan University, Barnett worked at the DI, DII, and NJCAA levels, primarily as a recruiting coordinator and a position coach for catchers.

As a student-athlete at ETSU, Barnett played catcher and served as team captain his senior season (2012), receiving All-Academic honours from the ASUN Conference in his final three seasons. Barnett was also a recipient of the Commissioner's Medal for academic achievement.

In 2023, Barnett was a panel speaker at the ABCA Coaches Convention, Catching "Hot Stove" in Nashville, Tennessee, and in 2024, he was a presenter at the Tennessee Baseball Coaches Association on Developing Catchers.

Barnett earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from ETSU in 2012.
